Boao Forum for Aisa Announces the Theme of the Annual Conference 2024

Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) held a Press Conference in Beijing on January 16, at which occasion Secretary General Li Baodong announced that the theme of BFA Annual Conference 2024 is “Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibilities”.

Li said that pursuing peace, seeking development and promoting cooperation remain the dominant and shared aspiration of the international community, in spite of multiple challenges facing the world, such as sluggish global economic recovery, increasingly destabilized international situation, more frequent extreme weather events and natural disasters and more urgent need to strengthen global governance. Asia-Pacific region continues to be a key driver of global growth, with China maintaining its role as the largest engine of the world's economic expansion.

Li emphasized that nations around the world should collectively address various global challenges and jointly bear the responsibility for promoting peace and prosperity. Only through shared responsibility and genuine cooperation among the international community can we steer the world towards continued peace and prosperity.

Li said that BFA hopes to call upon nations to bolster unity and cooperation, rebuild confidence and trust, and collectively foster peace and development. As we approach the midpoint of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, BFA is dedicated to infusing as much confidence and momentum as possible into the global economy and worldwide development efforts, and offering wisdom and strength of Asia.

Li introduced that BFA plans to organize the Annual Conference 2024 around four themed modules of The World Economy, Scientific and Technological Innovation, Social Development and International Cooperation, with a total of dozens of topics.
