On October 23, a delegation led by Dato’ Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, president of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association (PPMC), visited Hainan. Jiang Xiongbiao, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province (Hainan FAO) and vice president of the Hainan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, held talks with the delegation on strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Hainan and Malaysia.

Jiang welcomed the delegation and briefed it on the latest developments at the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) following the launch of island-wide special customs operations. He highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Malaysia, their shared policy priorities and development goals, strong mutual political trust, and fruitful cooperation. He hoped the two friendship associations would draw on their respective resources and networks to deepen exchanges and cooperation. Jiang said Hainan's association stands ready to work with the PPMC to strengthen ties between local governments in Hainan and Malaysia, expand practical cooperation in ports, logistics, and industrial parks, organize more youth exchanges to foster mutual understanding, and promote cultural exchanges in areas such as intangible cultural heritage and media, sharing stories of Hainan-Malaysia friendship.

Abdul Majid thanked the Hainan FAO for its warm hospitality and introduced the PPMC's work. He expressed interest in broadening cooperation with Hainan in ports, youth exchanges, education, and agriculture, and said the association would continue to serve as a bridge for trade, investment, and economic ties between Malaysia and China.

Founded in 1992, the PPMC promotes educational, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, as well as economic and trade cooperation, between China and Malaysia, while fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
