In March this year, Hainan Province, China, and the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, Spain, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation. Oscar Ordeig, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of Catalonia, led a delegation to Hainan to explore the potential for cooperation between the two regions, with the aim of jointly building a new model for agri-food industry cooperation.
