The National Immigration Administration (NIA) has announced that, effective August 20, 2026, ordinary passport holders of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam are now eligible for both China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy and Hainan’s 30-day visa-free entry policy.

The number of countries now eligible for China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy and Hainan’s 30-day visa-free entry policy has increased to 57 and 61, respectively.

Counting the 61 countries covered by Hainan’s exclusive policy, along with those covered by mutual and unilateral visa-exemption arrangements, citizens of a total of 88 countries can now enjoy visa-free entry to the island province.

The continued optimization of China’s visa-free entry policies is further expanding the opening up of the Hainan Free Trade Port, strengthening Hainan’s ties with the rest of the world, and facilitating higher-quality exchanges and cooperation with relevant countries in business, culture and tourism, providing strong support for the development of the FTP.
