The 2026 World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) is scheduled for Septembe24, 2026, at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou, Hainan Province.

The event will bring together global leaders from industry, technology, and policymaking to discuss development strategies and innovative international cooperation models for the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, focusing on trends in low-carbon initiatives and smart transformation.

This year’s main forum will cover topics including low-carbon development, resilient growth, industrial chain collaboration, integrated innovation, the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), and globalization. Additionally, over 10 themed sub-forums will be held, focusing on key technologies such as complete vehicles, automotive components, industrial support systems, and international cooperation.

The congress will also include a closed-door gathering of policymakers, leaders of international organizations, and heads of global automobile manufacturers.

The World New Energy Vehicle Congress has been held for seven consecutive sessions, establishing itself as a key platform for exchange and collaboration among global stakeholders in the automotive industry. It has made a strong contribution to the sector’s green and intelligent transformation and the combating of climate change.

Centered on the goal of fostering development via cooperation and advancing industrial upgrades, the congress actively encourages international policy coordination, strengthens open collaboration, and promotes technological and industrial innovation. It also aims to achieve the consensus set at the inaugural congress that, by 2035, new energy vehicles should account for 50% of the global automobile market (NEV50@2035).

The 2026 WNEVC aims to enhance dialogue and cooperation across various aspects of the global automotive industry, such as technology, markets, policies, and standards. It also aims to bring Chinese insights and Hainan solutions to tackling climate change, promoting energy transition, and developing an open, smart, and zero-carbon global automotive ecosystem.
