On the morning of November 24, the first stop of the "Global South Media Tour of Hainan" delegation was the bustling one-stop aircraft maintenance base of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

For journalists from 33 Global South countries, watching the meticulous maintenance of these giants up close was a brand-new experience. Many lifted their phones and cameras to capture the moment.

"We noticed how busy the base is. What is the demand for skilled professionals? Has your company already established cooperation with universities or vocational institutes?" asked Satyen Bhuruth, a producer from Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation.

Another journalist from Latin America and the Caribbean focused more on regional cooperation: "Does Hainan's aircraft maintenance industry currently engage with our region, or does it have prospects for future development?" Their questions revealed that the media saw, in the bustling scene before them, the potential for Hainan's aircraft maintenance sector to connect further with the world.

"We actively cooperate with universities inside and outside the province to strengthen our team of highly skilled technicians," explained Gu Zhilin, director of the aircraft maintenance base, owned by Grand China Aviation Maintenance, a subsidiary of HNA Technic.

As the Hainan Free Trade Port prepares to officially launch island-wide special customs operations, global passengers and cargo aircraft will take off and land in Hainan more frequently, and the route network will become denser. This will only increase demand for aircraft maintenance services. The company will continue expanding its customer base in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, accelerating the development of passenger-to-freighter conversion capabilities across multiple aircraft types, and gradually improve the full industrial chain of aircraft maintenance.

"Foreign airlines don't need to pay a deposit when sending aircraft to Hainan for maintenance. This greatly frees up cash flow for enterprises. With its geographic advantages and pioneering incentive policies like this, the Hainan Free Trade Port will certainly attract more international customers. It's truly an excellent way to draw global clients," Satyen Bhuruth noted.

After the visit, Aleksei Marchuk from Moldova's Noi News Network said he was deeply impressed by the strong momentum of Hainan's aircraft maintenance industry. He felt firsthand that, with the unique location and policy advantages of the Free Trade Port, Hainan is rapidly becoming a symbol of high-level services in the global aircraft maintenance sector. "Once the Free Trade Port completes its customs closure," he predicted confidently, "Hainan's aircraft maintenance industry will not only continue its steady growth but will also integrate into the global logistics value chain, drawing more international attention and investment."
