Feng Fei meets with Former New Zealand Prime Minister

On July 14, Feng Fei, Secretary of Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPC met with John Key, Former New Zealand Prime Minister, Chairman of ANZ Bank New Zealand Ltd., and Stonewood Key Capital and his delegation.

On behalf of Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Hainan Provincial People’s Government, Feng Fei welcomed John Key and thanked him for his visit. Feng said that, developing Hainan Free Trade Port is a major national strategy personally planned, arranged and promoted by Chinese President Xi Jinping. At present, Hainan is accelerating the development of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics and global influence. With increasing policy effects and more optimized business environment, Hainan is becoming a new preferred destination for foreign investors. Feng also expressed wish that Sir John Key would introduce the policies and investment opportunities of Hainan FTP to friends in New Zealand, promoting the friendly cooperation between Hainan and New Zealand to a new height.  

John Key highly praised the remarkable achievements China has made in developing economy, science and technology, as well as Hainan’s progress in developing the Hainan FTP. He said that, Stonewood Key Capital set up its Chinese headquarter in Hainan, fully testifying New Zealanders’ confidence in the future of Hainan FTP. He said that, with Hainan FTP’s opening policies, he wished to strengthen cooperation with Hainan in various areas, bringing more investment to China and sharing China’s development opportunities.

Hainan provincial leaders Bateer and Gu Gang attended the meeting.
