Liu Xiaoming meets with Ambassador of Argentina to China

On May 12, Liu Xiaoming, Acting Governor of Hainan Province, met in Haikou with Gustavo Sabino Vaca Narvaja, Ambassador of Argentina to China.

Liu welcomed Narvaja and introduced the latest development of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). He said that in recent years, China and Argentina have maintained sound exchanges and cooperation with a broad prospect. Hainan, as an important part of the Belt and Road network, would like to make the most of its location, resources and policies to further practical cooperation and mutual learning with Argentina in trade, tourism, sports, culture and climate change, and establish  sister provinces and cities in due course, so as to jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and make a positive contribution to the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Argentina.

Narvaja congratulated Hainan on its achievements in economic and social development. He said that Argentina and China have a longstanding friendship with extensive strategic consensus and common interests. Bilateral cooperation and exchanges have been growing steadily and yielding fruitful results. Hainan has a favorable geographic position and rich cultural heritage, and is making significant progress in the construction of the FTP. He hoped that the two places could improve transport interconnectivity, close people-to-people exchanges and explore positive measures to deepen cooperation in various fields to achieve mutually beneficial development.

Fu Xuanzhao, Secretary General of Hainan Provincial Government, attended the meeting.
