Feng welcomed Brandstätter, and introduced in detail the latest development and policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). He said that Hainan FTP enjoys a unique geographical location and high-level opening-up policies. The province will tap into its role as a pilot platform for comprehensive reform and opening-up, explore pilot implementation of CPTPP trade rules, and accelerate the construction of international shipping hub for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the western region. Hainan looks forward to sharing its development opportunities and cooperating with VGC in creating intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) application scenarios, and building low-carbon and zero-carbon supply chains.

Brandstätter said that Hainan FTP, backed by the opening-up policies and two of the world's most active markets in Chinese mainland and Southeast Asia, holds strong attraction for high-level talents. VGC is impressed by Hainan's efforts in ecological conservation and low-carbon development, and will pay further attention to the progress of the FTP and discuss new opportunities for cooperation.

During the talks, the provincial Department of Commerce also introduced investment opportunities in Hainan FTP. Vice Governor Ni Qiang and Secretary-General Fu Xuanchao of the provincial government were present.
