On January 10, Hainan Province and San-Pédro Region of Côte d’Ivoire signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation via video link.

According to the MOU, Hainan and San-Pédro Region will jointly explore and promote practical cooperation in the fields of tourism, handicrafts, higher education, vocational training, agriculture and agricultural products processing, cultural exchanges, and support for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises. Meanwhile, the two sides will strengthen exchanges and mutual learning in economic and trade policies, rules and practices, in an effort to establish a free trade port/zone partnership based on mutual benefits and win-win results.

Heads of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province and San-Pédro Region, and representatives  from the central governments of both countries attended the signing ceremony.

San-Pédro Region is currently building the San-Pédro Free Trade Zone.
